Chantal Joubi

Cecile

Chantal joined L’Ecole Française du Maine in 2015, initially as a Preschool Assistant Teacher and Yoga Instructor, when her family relocated to Maine from Florida. In January 2018, she received a DELF Teaching Certificate from the French Ministry of Education and began teaching DELF classes at L’Ecole Française du Maine, helping our graduates continue to develop their abilities in French beyond their elementary years. Chantal graduated from the Extended Teacher Education Program (ETEP- Masters in Teaching and Learning) at USM in May 2019 and is now a K-12 Maine Certified French Teacher. She teaches French at South Portland High School and Prenatal Yoga part-time at Maine Medical Center.  Chantal grew up in the suburbs of Paris, where she graduated from high school with a Baccalaureate in Science. She started university in Paris, then moved to Boston, MA, where she finished her education at Bentley College with a Bachelor’s in Accountancy. While spending several years in the banking field as a manager, Chantal found her love and passion for teaching; she became a yoga instructor for children and adults in 2005 and had been teaching yoga as a hobby ever since. She enjoys spending time with children of all ages and is very happy to be part of our school’s staff and community.
