Latest de l’Ecole

Bonjour,

It’s hard to believe how quickly September is moving along! We kicked off the year with our traditional first community gathering—the Family Picnic—which was a wonderful success even with a little rain in the mix. Students were proud to share their forest village, classrooms, and enjoy plenty of playtime with parents, grandparents, siblings, and friends. It was a joyful way to settle into the new school year and celebrate the strength of our school community. Many thanks to everyone who were able to make it!

As mentioned in the Back-To-School Meetings for families, we will continue to use two wonderful app’s this year to maintain a strong connection at home and at school. More information about both Seesaw and Artsonia can be found in the articles below. Progress is being made on the updated 2025-2026 School Directory which will be shared directly to families soon.

Please also join us for an IB PYP Presentation with Elise LeBihan, IB Coordinator, on Wednesday, September 24, 3:30–4:30 pm. We’ll walk through our Programme of Inquiry and the IB Learner Profile—and discuss how our Kindness Program’s aims are embedded within the IB framework. Children are welcome to stay in aftercare during the session.

Tomorrow is our first Bike Trip for grades 1+ at Wolfe Neck Center, with another one coming up later this month on Friday the 26th, weather permitting! We also want to invite you to the classroom Showcases coming up soon! These small presentations of what’s happening inside the classroom are a favorite of both parents and students, so please mark your calendars. Details for these events and others can be found in our Events Calendar.

We are excited to welcome back Enola Le Boëdec and Camille Le Siou from Brittany, France, who will be returning to our school after their wonderful work at summer camp. While their long-term housing begins November 1st, we are seeking two host families to welcome them during the month of October.

As a reminder, fall’s Afterschool Clubs begin this week! Enrollment for current clubs is full at this time, but please reach out if you would like to be added to the waitlist for a specific club. Once on the waitlist, we may be able to open another session, or at least grant priority enrollment the next time we offer the club.

As always, please contact the office with any questions at office@frenchschool.me

Merci beaucoup!

Emily and Willy
