Originally from Belgium, Mycha is a native French speaker who also speaks English fluently. She attended Institut Sainte-Thérèse in Manage and École Communale de Delval in Scailmont, Belgium, before completing her secondary education in Maine. Having been educated in both Belgium and the United States, she brings an international perspective and a personal understanding of bilingual and multicultural experiences to L’École Française du Maine.
Before joining the school, Mycha worked as a daycare teacher in two early childhood programs in the greater Portland area. Through this experience, she developed practical skills in caring for young children, supporting daily classroom routines, preparing age-appropriate activities, and fostering children’s social-emotional development. She understands the importance of providing young learners with a safe, reassuring, and engaging environment in which they can build confidence, develop independence, and learn through play and exploration.
As a native French speaker, Mycha helps immerse students in the French language through natural conversation and meaningful interactions throughout the day. Her bilingual abilities allow her to support children as they develop their communication skills while also helping families feel welcomed and connected to the school community.
Dynamic, caring, and eager to continue learning, Mycha brings energy, patience, and genuine enthusiasm to her work with children. She is delighted to share her Belgian culture and linguistic background with the students and families of L’École Française du Maine and is a valued member of the school’s early childhood team.
Outside school, Mycha has a strong interest in fashion and design and enjoys exploring creativity through personal style and artistic expression.
